THE COMPANY

We come from the operator's side of the table.

Skumu was built in Los Angeles by people who spent decades operating companies that depended on grants, incentives, public programs and regulatory approvals. We hired excellent attorneys, consultants, grant writers and public-affairs teams. Talent was never the problem. The problem was an orthogonal one: no one could see the whole decision making process and logic in one place. Each firm held one part of the answer while the operator remained responsible for the whole deal, the money being spent and whatever happened next.

The first version of Skumu was a simple tracker built around a $4 million California Energy Commission project.

We needed to know whether the project was ready and whether it could win before we committed more money. Skumu became a company when the answer proved too important to keep in a macro and the technology finally existed to read the full record.

Today, Skumu works across operations, go-to-market, public policy, product and engineering. We are building an AI platform that gives every firm around a regulated deal the intelligence it needs for its own work, while keeping the underlying decision intact for everyone responsible for the outcome.
